In the summer of 2019, the quiet life of an elderly Indianapolis man, Carl Petroff, came to a tragic and violent end. The 88-year-old White male was found deceased in his home on the 2500 block of Union Street on the city's south side on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. A friend discovered Mr. Petroff unconscious, and he was pronounced dead when emergency personnel arrived at the scene.
Initial observations by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department at the scene suggested that Mr.
Petroff had sustained some form of trauma, leading homicide detectives to immediately suspect foul play.
