On May 12, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Indianapolis, Indiana, resulting in the death of 5-year-old Hakiem Scott. The incident took place in the 1300 block of North Kealing Avenue on the near eastside of Indianapolis. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), the shooting was reported shortly before 9:30 p.m. and was initially investigated as a possible self-inflicted and accidental shooting.
