In the summer evening of July 8, 2021, tragedy struck in Indianapolis when 23-year-old Robert Surney, a male, was fatally shot. The incident unfolded around 8 p.m. in the 5000 block of West 36th Terrace. Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a person shot and discovered Surney inside a car, suffering from injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.
