In the early morning hours of July 12, 2021, a report of shots fired in the 11000 block of Brookville Road on the far east side of Indianapolis prompted a police response. Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene around 1:30 a.m. following a call suggesting a person might be injured and in danger. Despite an initial search of the area, no victim was located at that time.
