In the spring of 2019, the life of Daquan D. Barner, a 21-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. On the evening of Wednesday, March 27, 2019, Barner was in the 5700 block of Port Au Prince in Indianapolis, Indiana, when a drive-by shooting occurred. The incident, which also left another person injured, claimed Barner's life.
