Aaron Allan, a 38-year-old lieutenant with the Southport Police Department, tragically lost his life on July 27, 2017, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Lt. Allan was responding to a car crash near Madison Avenue and Maynard Drive when he was fatally shot. The incident began when Jason Brown, the driver involved in the crash, became agitated and pulled out a firearm, shooting Allan multiple times.
