On the night of July 11, 2022, violence erupted at the Blackburn Terrace apartment complex on the near-northeast side of Indianapolis, Indiana, claiming the life of 22-year-old Gregory Stewart. A Black / African American male, Stewart was on the sidewalk outside a residential building when a disturbance broke out just after 9:00 p.m. The situation quickly escalated into a barrage of gunfire, leaving Stewart with fatal injuries.
