Kirk Albert Nims, a 48-year-old resident of Petersburg, Virginia, tragically lost his life on July 11, 2023, in a senseless act of gun violence. The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. in the 500 block of Halifax Street, where police initially responded to reports of a car crash. Upon arrival, officers discovered Nims unresponsive inside the vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
