In the late hours of a summer night in Indianapolis, the life of Peter Carr, a 30-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On August 1, 2021, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the east side of the city, where they discovered Carr suffering from a gunshot wound behind a residence on East New York Street.
