Ellis Kendrick-Members, a 21-year-old Black man, was killed on the night of August 14, 2021, in Indianapolis, Indiana, when gunfire erupted near the intersection of East 28th Street and Wheeler Street.
Police were called to the area around 9 p.m. and found two people who had been shot. Ellis was pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman who had also been hit was taken to the hospital with injuries police believed were not life-threatening.
