On the evening of August 31, 2021, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Travis Deval Jones, a 40-year-old Black male, became the city's 26th homicide victim of the year. The incident unfolded just before 10 p.m. in the 4200 block of South Monroe Street on the city's south side. Fort Wayne police were dispatched to the area following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered a vehicle that had collided with a parked car.
