On October 11, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., Jersey City police responded to reports of gunfire near Garfield Avenue and Brown Place. Upon arrival, officers discovered 19-year-old Jersey City resident, Kashyne Grant, suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment.
