In the evening hours of August 4, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the summer calm at Ferris Triangle Park in Jersey City, New Jersey, leaving a young man's life tragically cut short. Alshaquir Duval, a 21-year-old Black / African American male from Jersey City, was fatally shot in an incident that underscored ongoing concerns about gun violence in the community. The shooting occurred around 8:22 p.m. near the intersection of Rose and Cator Avenues and Old Bergen Road.
