In the late hours of December 23, 2021, a Christmas party in Fort Wayne, Indiana, turned into a scene of violence that would claim the life of 33-year-old Alexia Deane Quinn. A Black female, Quinn was attending a gathering when an altercation escalated into a deadly shootout.
The incident unfolded when Henry Myers Junior, 28, reportedly arrived at the home on Lima Road angry with his girlfriend and frightening the children present.
Myers was armed, and his presence led to a confrontation that erupted in gunfire. When Fort Wayne Police Department officers responded to calls of an armed disturbance and a man with a gun breaking into the house, they discovered three adults with gunshot wounds.
Alexia Deane Quinn was one of the victims, and she was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead in the early hours of December 24, 2021. The Allen County Coroner's Office later confirmed that her cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds and ruled the manner of death a homicide. The homeowner and Myers were also injured in the shootout.
Following an investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, a warrant was issued for Henry Myers Junior. He was subsequently charged with murder and weapons offenses in connection with the fatal shooting.
