William Romero, a 43-year-old man, was found deceased in a wooded area in Lawrence, Indiana, a discovery that marked the beginning of a homicide investigation. His body was located near Fort Harrison State Park on March 17, 2022, by an individual out walking their dog. Investigators at the scene noted that the body had been deliberately concealed with leaves. An autopsy later confirmed that Romero had sustained a fatal gunshot wound, and his death was officially ruled a homicide.
