On a Tuesday evening in Indianapolis, the life of 25-year-old Antonio Hoskins was cut short by gunfire. On April 12, 2022, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the near northwest side of the city after receiving reports of shots fired in the area. A subsequent call directed them to the 1800 block of Milburn Street to check on the welfare of an individual.
There, they found Hoskins suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of emergency medical personnel, Antonio Hoskins, a male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Marion County Coroner’s Office would later confirm his identity and the cause of death. Hoskins was a former student of Lawrence Central High School and was remembered by friends as a silly and happy person who loved baseball and movies.
The investigation into the shooting fell to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's homicide detectives. In the days and weeks that followed, no information regarding potential suspects or any arrests was publicly released. The case of Antonio Hoskins's death is currently considered unsolved. Community members and online forums have expressed sorrow and frustration over the lack of progress in the investigation, hoping that someone with information will come forward to bring closure to his family.
