On the afternoon of April 19, 2022, 18-year-old Nathaniel Joe Reed was driving his black Chevrolet Impala through Richmond, Indiana, accompanied by a passenger, Adolfo Armenta. As they traveled near the intersection of South Eighth and South A Streets, Reed recognized the occupants of a silver Toyota Camry stopped at the same traffic light.
