Rhema Harris, a 28-year-old corrections officer from Mishawaka, Indiana, tragically lost her life on June 26, 2022. Harris, who had been serving at the St. Joseph County Jail since 2021, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting at her residence on Milburn Boulevard. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. when a silver car was seen driving west in an alley behind her house. Harris was struck in the chest by gunfire and was declared dead shortly after being transported to the hospital.
