In the early morning hours of September 10, 2022, Abdukadir Filanwaa, a 55-year-old Somali-American man, was found shot to death in his yellow minivan taxi in Indianapolis. A 911 caller reported that the cab had been parked near 11th and New Jersey streets for a prolonged period with its doors open and the engine still running.
