In the early hours of a Thursday morning, the life of a young man was tragically cut short on the northeast side of Indianapolis. Shawn Hicks Jr., a 23-year-old Black male, was shot and killed on July 30, 2020. The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. in the 4100 block of Brentwood Drive, situated just east of the intersection of East 42nd Street and North Post Road.
