In the autumn of 2022, a grim discovery was made on the east side of Indianapolis. On the evening of Saturday, October 15, police received a call around 8:15 p.m. about a person lying in a ditch near the intersection of East 21st Street and Shoreland Drive. Responding officers arrived at the scene to find a young man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
