On a cold December day in Indianapolis, a young mother's life was cut tragically short, leaving a void in the lives of her four small children. DeJanelle Gaines, a 24-year-old Black female, became a victim of a devastating act of domestic violence that ended in a murder-suicide. The incident unfolded on December 19, 2022, at an apartment on Cloverleaf Terrace on the city's west side.
