In an attempt to apprehend a murder suspect, Captain John Shinberger, a 63-year-old male, was fatally wounded. The incident occurred at a house located at 1308 North Second Street, where Captain Shinberger had taken a position at the rear of the residence. As the suspect attempted to flee the scene, he shot the Captain.
