Patrolman Ralph Keesee Ghivizzani, aged 26, tragically lost his life on February 6, 1943, in Phoebus, Virginia. Ghivizzani was serving with the Phoebus Police Department at the time of his death. The incident occurred when he attempted to serve a warrant at 11 Chamberlin Avenue for the theft of a firearm. The suspect in question was also awaiting trial for spousal rape.
