Ryan Eugene Cappelletty, a 23-year-old police officer from Midlothian, VA, tragically lost his life on May 28, 2003. Officer Cappelletty was responding to reports of gunshots at 3014 South Ridge Drive along with another officer. Upon arrival, they encountered a suspect armed with a gun standing in the front yard of a home. The suspect opened fire on the officers, who returned fire.
