In the summer of 2007, a family was irrevocably changed by an act of violence that claimed the life of a young man. James Curtis 'Lil' Mike' Seay, a 24-year-old Black / African American male, was killed by gunfire on June 11, 2007, in Richmond, Virginia. His death left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, a community was shaken, and a family was left to navigate a future without him.
