In the fall of 2007, a celebration of a teenage milestone took a tragic turn, ending the life of 16-year-old Raquel Hunter. On the night of November 10th, Raquel, a female from Caroline, Virginia, was attending a Sweet 16 birthday party in Ladysmith. What should have been an evening of youthful exuberance descended into chaos when a fight broke out. Amid the turmoil, gunshots rang out, and Raquel was struck in the head.
