On a September evening in Fredericksburg, Virginia, the life of 26-year-old Antoinette Anne Beverly was tragically cut short. Responding to a report of shots fired on the evening of September 9, 2017, police discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a pole in the 300 block of Palmer Street. Inside the car, they found Ms. Beverly, who had been fatally shot.
The investigation into the shooting led authorities to her boyfriend, Cortez Mills, who was 34 years old at the time.
After an extensive search, law enforcement located and arrested Mills the following day. He was subsequently charged with second-degree murder in connection with Ms. Beverly's death and was held without bond.
Antoinette, known to her loved ones as 'BaeBae,' was born on July 25, 1991. Her unexpected death left her family, including her mother, Paulette Carter Jett, her father, Nathaniel Beverly, and her grandparents, grieving a profound loss.
