Joseph Thomas Rodziewicz Jr., 32, was last seen on May 1, 1989, when he left Newburyport, Massachusetts, to visit a girlfriend in the Methuen/Lawrence area. He had a history of being a drifter, frequently moving between states and sometimes going long periods without contacting his family. Rodziewicz was known to have worked for a sanitation company and had associations with a biker gang based in Lowell, Massachusetts.
He was described as 6'0" to 6'2", weighing between 240 and 270 pounds, with brown hair and hazel or green eyes. He wore strong prescription glasses and had numerous homemade tattoos.
Despite sporadic phone calls to his family, including one in 1995 where he claimed to be homeless in Chicago (though the call originated from Connecticut), no contact was made after that. His family eventually reported him missing in 2011. Although he may have lived briefly in Illinois, Colorado, and Connecticut during the years leading up to his disappearance, his whereabouts after 1995 remain unknown. Methuen police are investigating, but his case remains unsolved.
