In the winter of 2007, the life of 35-year-old Clifton Pernell 'Jay' Brooks Jr. was tragically cut short in Norfolk, Virginia. A self-employed carpenter and licensed electrician, Brooks was also a beloved volunteer coach for a local youth recreational league, known for his passion for helping young people. On the night of December 6, he was discovered unresponsive and, despite efforts to revive him, was pronounced dead at the scene.
