In the winter of 2007, the life of 35-year-old Clifton Pernell 'Jay' Brooks Jr. was tragically cut short in Norfolk, Virginia. A self-employed carpenter and licensed electrician, Brooks was also a beloved volunteer coach for a local youth recreational league, known for his passion for helping young people.
