Rene Rivera, a 36-year-old resident of Virginia Beach, VA, was tragically killed on November 17, 2012. Rivera had recently moved to the Lake Edward area with his 7-year-old son, seeking a fresh start and to be closer to his family, who had relocated from New York. On the fateful day, Rivera was found shot in the 600 block of Lake Edward Drive, just across the street from his home on Barrison Way. He was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after the incident.
