In the crisp autumn air of November 2012, the life of 36-year-old Rene Rivera was tragically cut short in Virginia Beach, Virginia. A recent transplant to the Lake Edward area, Rivera had moved with his young son to be closer to family who had relocated from New York, seeking a fresh start and the comfort of kinship. This new chapter, filled with the promise of family holidays and shared milestones, came to a violent end on the night of November 17th.
