Douglas Allen Witt, aged 53, passed away unexpectedly on August 20, 2013, in Castlewood, Russell County, Virginia. Born on February 23, 1960, Doug was a lifelong resident of the Belfast community and spent much of his adult life in the Abingdon area. He was the son of Clarence Edward and Sarah Katherine Witt. Doug was employed by Appalachian Power Company in Abingdon, Virginia, for 19 years and was also involved in farming, cattle rearing, and real estate.
