Jonathan O. Fitzgerald, a 40-year-old resident of Richmond, Virginia, was tragically killed on the night of September 23, 2022. The incident occurred outside the S&M Deli Convenience Store located in the 400 block of E. Laburnum Avenue in Henrico County. According to police reports, 911 calls began coming in just after 8:45 p.m., reporting that a man had been shot. Upon arrival, officers found Fitzgerald with a gunshot wound to the head, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
