On August 9, 2014, at approximately 9:53 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Nottingham Court in Hopewell, Virginia, following reports of shots being fired. Upon arrival, they discovered 29-year-old Calvin Alfonzo Brothers suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to John Randolph Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
