In the spring of 2014, the life of 21-year-old Keonte Beale, a Black male from Norfolk, Virginia, was tragically cut short. On the evening of May 30th, Beale was fatally shot in the 2400 block of Middle Avenue. The incident left a community in mourning and a family searching for answers that would prove to be elusive. In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement began an investigation, but the trail to a suspect quickly grew cold.
