In the summer of 2015, on a Tuesday evening in Richmond, Virginia, the life of 29-year-old Benjamin Alston was tragically cut short. On July 14th, in the Hillside Court neighborhood, Alston was shot and killed, becoming another victim of gun violence in the city. The shooting occurred in the 1500 block of Harwood Street, a residential area that was suddenly thrust into the center of a homicide investigation.
