In the early morning hours of Halloween in 2015, a promising young life was tragically cut short on a street corner in Norfolk, Virginia. Joseph Bose, a 20-year-old Black male and a junior journalism major at Hampton University, was fatally shot at the intersection of West 35th Street and Killam Avenue. The incident occurred shortly after 3:15 a.m., a time when the city was alive with the sounds of late-night activity, yet for Bose, it became the final moments of his life.
