A man is shot in a car on I 264 E at Ballentine Boulevard in the City of Norfolk In the late hours of a summer night in Norfolk, Virginia, a violent encounter tragically cut short the life of Timothy Vondrell Jenkins. On August 8, 2011, the 34-year-old Black or African American man was a passenger in a Ford Expedition on Interstate 264 east at Ballentine Boulevard when another vehicle pulled alongside and an unknown individual opened fire.
Jenkins was struck and killed in the barrage of bullets.
Prior to the shooting, Jenkins and the other occupants of the vehicle had been at a club where an altercation had reportedly occurred.
