On the morning of December 13, 2015, a wave of violence swept through the city of Petersburg, Virginia, leaving a community in shock and a family mourning the loss of 21-year-old Kawaun A. Quarles. Known affectionately as 'Dro' to his friends and family, Quarles was a resident of Petersburg and a graduate of Petersburg High School, where he had excelled in sports.
