Walter R. Sykes, III, a 40-year-old man, was fatally shot on the night of Saturday, October 14, 2023. The incident occurred in the Blandford neighborhood of Petersburg, Virginia, near the intersection of 6th Street and Patrick Street. Sykes, who was a resident of Dinwiddie County, was inside his car with a passenger when multiple shots were fired.
