On the evening of October 21, 2019, a Petersburg, Virginia resident, 28-year-old Tyvin K. Dixon, was fatally shot in Chesterfield County. The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. in the 9700 block of River Road. When police responded to reports of shots fired, they discovered Dixon suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting led authorities to identify a suspect, 24-year-old
Kevin R. Brockenbrough. It was reported that Dixon and Brockenbrough were known to each other, though the nature of their relationship and a motive for the shooting were not immediately disclosed. Warrants were obtained for Brockenbrough's arrest on charges of murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
