In the late summer of 2019, the life of Marvin 'Mario' Cherome Briggs, a 40-year-old Black male, was abruptly ended. On the evening of September 1st, police were called to the 2300 block of Navajo Court in Petersburg, Virginia, where a double shooting had occurred. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims. One individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but Briggs was pronounced dead at the scene.
