In the early evening of April 4, 2024, the life of 21-year-old Semaj YonTaè Abraham Cooper was cut short in Petersburg, Virginia. At approximately 5:45 p.m., what began as a shooting at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and High Pearl Street ended tragically in the 100 block of St. Matthew Street. Cooper, after being shot, attempted to drive away from the scene, a desperate flight for life that concluded when his vehicle crashed into a residence.
