In the late afternoon of Sunday, February 28, 2016, the life of 20-year-old DLondre Tyrell Minifield, a Black male, came to a tragic end in Winchester, Virginia. What began as a police response to a reported fight spiraled into a foot chase that concluded with Minifield’s death from a gunshot wound. The circumstances surrounding that fatal shot, however, remain a point of sharp contention, painting two vastly different pictures of the final moments of a young man's life.
