In El Paso, Texas, a heated argument stemming from accusations of infidelity tragically escalated, leading to the death of 36-year-old Miguel Garcia on November 2, 2025. The incident unfolded at the La Estancia apartment complex located on Viscount Boulevard.
The dispute reportedly began on Halloween between 21-year-old Jaeveyin Antonio Porter and his wife. The argument continued over text messages into the following Sunday.
Believing the conflict was centered around infidelity, Porter's wife sought the help of her uncle, Miguel Garcia, to ask Porter to leave their apartment. When they arrived at the residence, Porter allegedly refused to open the door.
In an attempt to gain entry, Garcia used his body to force the door open. As the door gave way and Garcia entered the apartment, he was met with gunfire. Porter is accused of shooting Garcia multiple times. After the shooting, Porter fled the scene but was apprehended by El Paso police a short time later.
Authorities arrested Jaeveyin Antonio Porter and charged him with murder in connection with the death of Miguel Garcia. Garcia was found deceased by officers outside an apartment on the second floor of the complex. An obituary described Miguel Angel "Mickey" Garcia Jr. as a compassionate and kind-hearted individual for whom family was everything. He was remembered for his big smile, his willingness to always lend a helping hand, and his passion for music.
