On a spring evening in Hampton, Virginia, the life of 20-year-old Raheem O'Qwan Johnson was tragically cut short. On May 9, 2016, at approximately 7:45 PM, Johnson was with two friends in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 104 Golden Gate Drive when gunfire erupted. Struck in the chest by a bullet, Johnson was rushed to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
His two companions, an adult male and an adult female, also sustained gunshot wounds but their injuries were not life-threatening.
The assailants were described as two young Black males, believed to be in their late teens or early twenties. One of the suspects was noted as having a light skin tone, while the other had a medium brown complexion. In the wake of the shooting, these descriptions were circulated by the Hampton Police Division as they commenced their investigation into the homicide. Despite these details, the individuals responsible for Johnson's death have not been apprehended.
The case remains an active investigation, with law enforcement continuing to seek information from the public that could lead to the identification and arrest of the perpetrators. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Raheem O'Qwan Johnson.
