Michael Anthony Smith, affectionately known as "Murphy," passed away suddenly on June 4, 2016, at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia. Born on March 16, 1962, in Richmond, Virginia, Michael was a lifelong resident of Petersburg. He was employed as a construction worker at Fort Lee and was well-known in his community for his jovial personality and love for fishing and sports.
