In the quiet community of Hampton, Virginia, the life of 70-year-old Donald Burrell, a Black/African American male, was brought to a tragic and violent end. On October 9, 2016, police were called to his home on Somerville Drive for a welfare check, where they discovered his body. An autopsy would later reveal that he had been shot between 13 and 15 times in the upper body.
