In the quiet evening of November 18, 2016, in Hampton, Virginia, the life of 27-year-old Rasheem Depri Saunders, a Black male, was tragically cut short. He was the victim of a double shooting that also claimed the life of 23-year-old Daquan Desimond Berkeley. The Hampton Police Division has been actively investigating the case, seeking to uncover the motive and circumstances that led to this violent act.
Around 7:36 p.m., police responded to a call in the first block of Glascow Way.
Upon arrival, they discovered Saunders and Berkeley inside a parked vehicle in a townhome parking lot. Both men had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Saunders was pronounced dead at the scene, while Berkeley was rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the deaths of Saunders and Berkeley was immediately launched and remains an active homicide case. Despite the efforts of law enforcement, no arrests have been made in connection with the double murder. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects.
