In the winter of 2017, the life of 18-year-old Amir Mohammed Dermoumi, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short on the streets of Portsmouth, Virginia. On the evening of January 15th, Dermoumi was a passenger in a car near the intersection of Truxton Avenue and Portsmouth Boulevard when shots were fired into the vehicle.
